Seeing Ants Everywhere? 3 Tips For Getting These Pesky Insects Out

Logan Watson

If you are seeing ants in your home, you might feel frustrated. The ants are small and can get anywhere they please. Fortunately, you can get the ants out of your home. Below are three tips on how you can do this.

Find the Source

The first thing to do is to find where the ants are coming from so you can take care of this problem. You need to go outside. Look for any entry areas on your home, such as around windows or the foundation. If you take the time, you will see a line of ants going in one direction and coming out in the opposite direction. Follow this line and you will find where they live outside.

Once you find the nest, pour hot, boiling water over it. This will kill all the ants, as well as destroy their home. Now it is time to take care of the problem inside.

Use Chemicals

If you do not mind using chemicals, this is the best and fasts way to get the ants out. You can find kits at home improvement or pet stores. These kits come with a sweet-tasting liquid. You place the liquid on something, such as a small card, and sit this in an area where you see most of the ants.

It won't take the ants a long time to find this liquid. Once they do, they will surround the chemical and eat it. Once they eat, the ants will quickly die. You can place these ant kits in different areas of your home, and you may need to use them for a few days until all the ants are removed.

Use a Pest Control Service

If you still see ants in your home hire a professional insect control contractor to get the ants out for you. Because you are still getting ants, there are likely more areas where they live outside. The professional knows how to find ant homes and remove them. The professional can also determine the entry points on how the ants are getting into your home.

Once the insect control contractor takes care of the outside, they will spray chemicals inside your home. They will spray these chemicals around baseboards, around windows, and more. It may take only one visit to kill all the ants or the pest control company may have to return a second time to rid your home of all of these pesky insects.

If you have questions about any of this, ask the pest control contractor, like those at Be There Pest Control, and they can help you.
